AR (Augmented Reality) technology overlays virtual information onto the real world, providing users with new experiences, and has the potential to bring revolutionary changes to work and daily life due to its significant economic and social value. Global manufacturers are equipping AR devices with specialized processing units in addition to general-purpose CPUs. To support this, Supergate has been selected for a government-funded project to develop a low-power, low-latency coprocessor SoC for AR devices.

For the development of high-performance AR glasses,

hardware dedicated to real-time data processing for eye tracking, gesture recognition, and 3D location awareness is essential. Moreover, AR devices are limited in battery capacity, making power efficiency crucial. We are developing a low-power coprocessor SoC to minimize the computational load on the CPU and optimize it for extended use. This will enable the development of a coprocessor SoC that can receive input from cameras (vision sensors) and IMU sensors and calculate the position in space in real-time, contributing to the expansion of AR glasses development in conjunction with commercial AP/CPU.

From a social perspective, AR technology is being utilized in various fields such as distribution logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing, and its effectiveness can be seen through numerous application cases. Through this national project, Supergate aims to contribute to the advancement of AR technology and provide an environment where domestic companies can easily develop various AR glasses in conjunction with commercial CPUs/APs
