The Global Star Fabless Project is a long-term project aimed at nurturing South Korea’s fabless companies into the global top tier. The government plans to actively support the cultivation of star fabless by applying preferential criteria for various semiconductor support policies, including technology development support, MPW prototype production, finance, domestic and overseas marketing, and design manpower development.
Previously, the government supported the growth of early-stage companies by providing Electronic Design Automation(EDA) Tools and office space, and has also supported the production of prototypes(such as MPW) essential for fabless companies to freely access foundries. Additionally, to promote the growth and independence of fabless companies, the ‘Semiconductor Ecosystem Fund’ was launched last June, providing 23 Mil. USD. A ‘System Semiconductor Cluster’ is also being formed to strengthen the connection with foundries.

as a ‘Rising Star Fabless’ company.
For this project, 10 Global Star Fabless companies and 10 Rising Star Fab-less companies have been selected, making a total of 20 companies.
