According to KPMG research,

the automotive semiconductor market size is expected to grow from $4.5 billion in 2020 to about $20 billion in 2040, and within this, areas such as infotainment, telematics, and ADAS are projected to grow from 45% of the total market in 2019 to 80% by 2040.

Currently, Supergate is working on a future-oriented vehicle infotainment platform project that develops intelligent interface chips to provide various services and content simultaneously to multiple passengers within a vehicle. The chip being developed in this project will support a non-contact interface through motion and gesture recognition.

The ultimate goal of this project is to create a service platform that offers a realistic infotainment experience to all vehicle passengers. It features an integrated AP and a user behavior-based immersive content delivery SW system, supporting multitasking for multiple users, based on the design for extracting interaction data from multi-channel sensors.

Beyond the conventional driver-centric infotainment support, the development of integrated technology that simultaneously supports multiple users will allow for a wider variety of content and services to be experienced inside the vehicle.

1. Telematics

Vehicle Remote Management System

This technology involves collecting various information within the vehicle and remotely transmitting or controlling it. Examples include vehicle location tracking, remote diagnostics, and emergency rescue services.

2. ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems)

Advanced Driver Assistance System

These are various features installed in a vehicle to assist the driver’s safety. Examples include lane-keeping assistance, collision avoidance systems, and automatic parking aids.

3. Infotainment

Vehicle Information and Entertainment System

This system provides music listening, navigation, and various vehicle information inside the car. It includes smartphone connectivity, voice recognition, and multimedia playback.

4. Interface

User Control Panel

This is the part that allows users to easily operate and use various functions of the vehicle. Examples include touchscreens, buttons, and voice command systems.
